Serendipity
Because I don't have time to drive home from there and get to work for Monday. And going in June means missing the best of my schools' recital. I'm not dancing but would have liked to have been there. June is the only one, though. The good thing is that, if they run it the same as last year, I'll finally see Randall Marks again. I love the way he choreographed the PdD when I was there for my first camp year! :-) http://www.sunkingdance.com/2011_schedule.htm Quote Link to comment
Laschwen
Hi old friend: I have also registered for June this year. I was signed up for March despite a way too long break but various things intervened and I switched. I hope Randall is there too. I loved his class. One minute I was doing something familiar and easy and the next I was doing something entirely new to me without the least new step stress. I enjoyed August a lot but the timing is just lousy for that this year so I will be missing my old friends from the first Aug session of 08 but enjoying meeting some of my long time cyber friends. Now to the getting in shape for it..... Quote Link to comment

Laschwen
Laschwen, we'll meet at last! :^) I know!!! Somebody from FB reminded me you will be there. Yeah! Friend me. I have made comments on the Sun King page and I bet you can figure out who I am. You can always check some ancient PM's for my name. Quote Link to comment
Laschwen
I am up to 3 friends now who I will meet for the first time at the June camp. I am excited. Anybody else from here registered yet? Quote Link to comment
loohoo44
I'm pretty sure I'm going to register for the saratoga springs one, I'd prefer to go to richmond but a good friend's wedding is Saturday august 13, which is smack in between the two sessions. I'd have to miss either the first day of one, or the last day of the other. Does anyone have additional info on the NY session? Is it just as good as Richmond? Anyone else going? This would be my first ever SI so I have lots of questions. Quote Link to comment
Laschwen
A wedding on Sept 3rd is keeping me from Saratoga this year. It was my original plan before the March camp news came out because I grew up not far from there. All I know of it is what is on the website and that one fellow camper I know had a lovely time. katielovesballet
Does anyone know how hard their lowest level tends to be? The web site says 2 years of training which I'll technically have by August, but half of that is with different classes in different places and the occasional month off, so I'm not sure I'd be good enough. I'd definitely be petrified that the performance might include something I couldn't do But if I put it off I probably wouldn't have the time/finances for several more years (since I finish college next year), and it sounds like a really great experience! Chihiro
katielovesballet, I'm in the same boat - technically 2 years of training, but at a low-quality Dinkle-type school (I've only recently switched to a better one!). I'm going to go anyway, but I'd love some company at the bottom! =) What session were you thinking of? Quote Link to comment
gimpydancer
You guys should be fine. One of the ladies in level 2 at the August camp last year had only been dancing for six months, though I think she did a lot a classes per week, and she had a great time. I did level 2 though I had the option of doing 3A, but I like taking things slowly. Quote Link to comment
katielovesballet
Thanks, it makes me feel better knowing that other relatively-beginner people would be there If I can figure out the money I'd go August 14-20. Quote Link to comment
Chihiro
That's when I'm going, Katie! Hopefully I'll see you there! Quote Link to comment

sunshineinmay
I was wondering the same thing about how beginner is the beginner class- does anyone who did it last year know what it's like? I will have had about 2 years of dance by then- but am nervous about getting in over my head! Quote Link to comment
