Yesterday, Sunday, I saw Rebecca King perform in Balanchine's "Bugaku." I have never seen this work or the Miami Ballet previously. "Bugaku" truly shows Balanchine's genius in choreographing to this wonderful dissonant music. It was performed exquisitely by the dancers. As performed, to my eyes it was a masterpiece. Fine performances of "Fanfare" and "Themes and Variations" were also on the program and all to a live orchestra. I applaud Rebecca King for her superb dancing and will certainly "help spread the joy of dancing.
