Pique
Hi -- I'm taking a pilates class at the gym. I'd rather not deck out in ballet wear for this. What I'd like is capri (or longer) leggings or something but they need to be NOT thin like tights so I can just wear them w/ a tank top. Has anyone bought any of these? I can't tell from the descriptions if they are OK to wear alone or not (i.e., not practically transparent the way tights would be w/ no leo). http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/top.../leggings/page1 Thank you!! Pique
Oh! This one says OK for streetwear or w/ tops. So I guess it's NOT see-through. Thanks! http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/sty...p;SID=261425165 Quote Link to comment
dancepig
I think Danskin.com is having a sale right now on leggings, they would be appropriate for Pilates. I wear my yoga crop pants in my Pilate classes, I find they are more comfortable, but if you want leggings, I'd check out the Danskin site now (especially if there is a sale). Quote Link to comment

Thanks! http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/sty...p;SID=261425165 Dancewear sizing is always an issue. I see it says "unisex" for these so I thought that might be cool. But the Large size is a 24" waist! Even for dancers, a man with a 24" waist is NOT LARGE! :^) I'm just sayin' ... I wear Lands End knit pants to my Pilates classes. Men's XS is a 27" waist; I can wear the M (32-34) though I need XL in dance wear (also 34). It's a jungle out there! Quote Link to comment
missvjc420
I've bought cotton and microfiber leggings that are opaque at Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, & Target that I wear for mat and reformer. Quote Link to comment
Lyndee
I buy leggings from Target, Old Navy, Forever 21, and H&M. I also have a pair I got from Discount Dance: Lightweight Legging with Inside Seam. They aren't see-thru, but they are one-size fit all and very stretchy. Depending on how much they stretch out they may get thin in some areas but I still don't think it'd be see-thru (unless you got white or beige). They're nylon/spandex and I usually wear shorts over them for modesty since they're skin-tight I prefer cotton leggings or yoga pants. Quote Link to comment
kylara7
I got my non-dance leggings on the cheap from similar places as missvjc420 and Lyndee...just the opaque black cottons ones with a little bit of spandex so that they keep their shape and fitted enough to be able to see my joints and lines but not skin-tight. I've also worn black running tights for Pilates or exercise classes in the winter...they are a little heavier but very stretchy and definitely opaque. The cheap leggings do tend to thin out with wear and tear and washing, but for ~$6-8 each, I feel like I get good value from them and it saves wear on my more pricey ballet gear Quote Link to comment
