Adult Ballet Classes - New York (Long Island)

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and it seems like a great resource! I have seen some other threads on here where people give recommendations for good adult ballet classes in Long Island but none of them are very close to my house, so I am hoping someone will be able to give me some other suggestions here. I am a 23 (almost 24) year-old female in good shape. I run/walk a few miles everyday and do yoga, pilates, and similar programs a few times a week. I did dance a bit when I was much younger and I took two semesters of beginner ballet classes at Barnard College while I attended Columbia University. I began an advanced beginner/intermediate class at the time but had to stop after a few weeks as it did not fit into my class schedule. However, that was 2 years ago now and I have not attended any classes since. Thus, I would feel most comfortable in a complete beginner class for now. I live in Merrick, Nassau County, about 25 minutes (with no traffic) from Midtown Manhattan. I would love any recommendations on good and affordable adult classes in this area -south shore of Nassau County, preferably ones that have summer classes, if there are any. Many of the classes I have seen recommended have been in Suffolk County about 40 minutes or more from my house which is a bit far especially given how much longer it can take with summer traffic.

Also, I am beginning a graduate program in Manhattan in the fall and I am planning to move back into Manhattan sometime this fall-early winter. While I really would prefer not to make the commute for a dance class at this time if any one has any recommendations on good, affordable classes in Manhattan for when I move that would be great!

Thanks for all your help! :)
