My oldest dd is going through the college admission process right now. While she is interested in several private liberal arts colleges, we have encouraged her to also check into smaller state schools as a fall back. I was wondering if anyone has information about the newly developed dance program at Troy University in Alabama? I know that they have recently hired Elie Lazar, formerly of the Montgomery Ballet, to lead the program as an instructor, but I don't know much else about the program. An email from the non-instructor director indicated that dance is not yet a major, but they are going through the internal process at the University to have it fully accredited and offered as a major by Spring of 2013. Auditions are in two weeks and we are planning to audition, but in the meantime, I wondered if anyone had any insight or information about the program before we go.
