taylorj123
I was wondering if there were any back strengthening and flexibility exercises/stretches I could do in order to have a more flexible and stronger back, and a better arabesque line. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted November 14, 2011 Administrators Report Share Posted November 14, 2011 Welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers, taylorj. All of the work needed for arabesques should happen in your classes. They do require both flexibility and strength, but those things are worked on so constantly, and included in so many exercises and stretches we do all the time, that I really do not have any separate specific exercises. I find that usually the problem with arabesque line is a matter of knowing how to move the body weight forward and upward, and how to rotate the leg and get it directly behind your shoulder. There are other topics on this on all of the technique forums, so if you do a search for Arabesque, you will probably come up with quite a lot of reading! Quote Link to comment
