Balletbrit
Does anyone know where I can find "low vamp" ballet slippers. I've tried getting used to the "higher vamp" ballet slippers that are so common these days and I kind of miss the older more "vintage" look of the older slippers. Any ideas, please post or PM me. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
kr12
Grishko Ultimates have a lower vamp than most shoes. What kind are you currently wearing? Edited November 28, 2011 by kr12 Quote Link to comment
Tari
The "R-Class" (in the USA called "Russian Pointe") slippers have the option of three vamp lengths. V1 is the shortest. I have a pair of them and the vamp is nice and short. Shorter than the vamp of the Grishko Ultimate, which I have, too. Edited November 28, 2011 by Tari Quote Link to comment
Balletbrit
Hi and thank you for your replies. Do the slippers you're speaking of come in canvas or are they strictly made out of leather?? Quote Link to comment
MJ
Sansha used to have vamp choices. Not anymore. Quote Link to comment
Tari
As far as I remember, R-Class are only available in canvas. Grishko can be had in canvas or leather. Quote Link to comment
missvjc420
RP does not offer a V1 for slippers anymore. I order customs from them and my store owner was told the shortest vamp in slippers they offer is V2. It is still shorter than many shoes on the market. My Bloch Proflex leather shoes also have a short vamp. I've looked into vintage shoes and the vamps don't look that small to me, and I grew up wearing Tekniks and Bloch Dansoft, graduating to Sansha Pros. Quote Link to comment
gimpydancer
I've been ordering the Russian Pointe slippers from Back Bay Dancewear in a V1 (waiting on my second pair) and they're still showing it as being offered on their website. Quote Link to comment
Balletbrit
What are the v1 slippers everyone is talking about? Is that a brand or a model identification? I'm trying to find black low vamp soft slippers preferably in canvas, but will settle for leather (like I'd have a choice!!! LOL!!). Quote Link to comment
missvjc420
I've been ordering the Russian Pointe slippers from Back Bay Dancewear in a V1 (waiting on my second pair) and they're still showing it as being offered on their website. Split or full sole? I'll take a look, as I have super short toes and am on my last pair right now. I wear the full sole canvas and would love to find them in a v1. BalletBrit, v1 refers to the shortest length vamp that Russian Pointe makes for flat and pointe shoes. I don't know if they make shoes for men but you can Google Russian Pointe and check out the website. ETA: I just looked and they only offer split soles. It could be that RP only does full soles in v2 and up. I may try emailing RP directly, because I normally go through a local store (trying to keep my $ in the local economy!). Quote Link to comment
