Marjolein
Does anybody know if any ballets will be broadcast on BBC around Christmas or New Year's Eve/Day? Quote Link to comment
Mazenderan
The Royal Ballet's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is on BBC 2 on Christmas Day, and so is Darcey Bussell Dances Hollywood. The Royal Ballet's The Nutcracker is also on BBC 4 on the 23rd. Quote Link to comment
Redbookish
Here's a link to the BBC TV home page. You need to search either by date or channel (BBC 1, 2, 3 or 4). YOu can also search via the iPlayer, but I'm not sure what or how it's available in Europe. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/programmes/schedules/london/2011/12/25 Quote Link to comment
kylara7
I highly recommend Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, for adult and for kids who are familiar with the story. I saw the production that the National Ballet of Canada did (in conjunction with the Royal Ballet) this summer and it was fantastic...very creative sets and staging with a theatrical twist merged with very ballet choreography and some contemporary twists, like the tap-dancing Mad Hatter and the Trocadero-like physical comedy of the Red Queen (I saw one of the NBoC's principal dancers really show her versatility and ability to be downright funny and silly while doing some very difficult things).
