Bunhead Jill
Hi! I already train in Cecchetti and RAD ballet, but becasue I don't have enough classes in either style, I was wondering if training in Russian (Vaganova) ballet also would be bad? I know it's very different from the others, and was wondering if it would "throw off" my ballet technique for the other classes? Any advice is welcome! Jill Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted June 29, 2012 Administrators Report Share Posted June 29, 2012 Jill, I don't think I would add a 3rd method into the mix. Sounds like a bit too much. If you made a switch to Vaganova, I think it would be best to be doing only that, at least until you are a very advanced dancer. Quote Link to comment
vrsfanatic
I am in agreement with Ms Leigh two teaching ideologies may be enough. It is quite difficult to combine Vaganova schooling with other teaching ideologies. In order to really understand Vaganova one must totally engross themselves. It is not a fruit cocktail or a selection menu. You do it or you do not. Quote Link to comment
