danceprincess
Is there a ballet talk dictionary or a topic which explains some of the abbreviations used on this site such as DD,RDA, etc? Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 11, 2013 Administrators Report Share Posted January 11, 2013 Yes, there is! Just scroll down the pinned topics on this forum and you will see Important Acronyms. I think most of them are there, not sure about RDA....that is Regional Dance America, which is the National organization consisting of the regional organizations like SERBA (Southeast Regional Ballet Association), NERBA (Northeast), etc. Quote Link to comment
Twinkle Mom
Here is a link to a locked topic with most of them, I believe: http://dancers.invis...?showtopic=6018 edited to add--Sorry, Ms. Leigh, I must have been posting at the same time as you. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 11, 2013 Administrators Report Share Posted January 11, 2013 That's okay, Twinkle Mom! Appreciate your posting the link, as I am on a browser that won't do that. Quote Link to comment
ascballerina
I would just add that on that list, the National Ballet of Canada is listed as NBC. I've more commonly seen it here as NBOC. Perhaps that has changed in the almost ten intervening years since that list was originally posted? Also, BT4D, while admittedly a bit obvious, isn't on there, either. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 11, 2013 Administrators Report Share Posted January 11, 2013 That is because I refuse to use numbers for words. It is BTforD, which is even more obvious! Quote Link to comment
ascballerina
You might not use that abbreviation, Ms Leigh, but other people do! (I usually hate seeing numbers as words, but in this particular instance, it doesn't bother me) Quote Link to comment
