Back popping?

everytime I go to stretch, I always roll out my back with my foam roller that I have at home. Almost everytime I do it, my back pops as I start to roll it out! Inever really thought about it as a bad thing just because I felt like my back was being relieved when it popped. it is really starting to worry me though! Can this popping be something dangerous or are there just tight places in my back?
