Doing steps you know are wrong.

When I was at a different studio, I was often told to do things I knew were harmful (i.e. we would do "over-spllts" with the front leg over one persons knees and the back leg over anothers, most of us didn't even have our "regular" splits :yucky: ). We would also do heavy stretching at the beginning of class! Thankfully I have changed studios, but every once in a while I will come across something harmful. My question is; can I do anything about it? I feel like in the dance world teachers have control. How and can you bring it up without hurting your training?

What types of things that are harmful are you being asked to do?
