Adult classes Boca Raton Florida area - searching

Hi,

I'm new to the board. I'm an ex dancer looking for adult classes in Boca Raton, Florida area, preferably modern dance. I'm in my 30s and had to stop dancing in my teens due to an injury. I would love to take a class for fun/mental clarity/excercize and get back into it but can't seem to find much in south Florida for adult classes, especially modern.

Boca Ballet has a lot of adult classes. I'm not sure about how much modern they have, but there should be something there for you to take.

The expertise here is largely about ballet classes for adults, but we all seem to take a variety of dace styles, so I'm sure there will be some good suggestions.

 

I have no idea about classes in Boca Raton, I'm afraid, as I'm a long way east of you!

 

But one thing you could do is look for the established and professional dance studios (proper ones, not competition or "Dolly Dinkle" studios). If they are good studios for children, it's likely they'll often reasonable classes for adults, so you could ring around local pre-professional studios to see what they offer.

To my knowledge, Kbal, Boca Ballet is the only pre-pro school in the Boca Raton area. I could be wrong, but I think you would need to head south to Ft. Lauderdale or north to West Palm Beach to find a larger variety of good schools and adult classes.

I have taken open adult ballet classes at Boca Ballet...liked them very much. They have quite a good jazz faculty as well.

I'm in the same boat you are, only I'm rather hooked on ballet.Try Ballet Elite in Margate. They have a variety of classes. Otherwise, as Victoria suggested, you may have to head to palm beach or lauderdale.
