Lady Elle
Just went to the movie theatre to watch this 3 1/2 hour movie of La Bayadere. First of all, there were 2 25 minute intermissions. they were between acts. I was fortunate enough to be able to have the film room guys fast forward through these intermissions. Secondly... Most of the production cut the dancers off somewhere between the knee and the ankle! rarely did you see the dancers feet! i was super disappointed! And it wasn't a projector issue, it was the way the movie was filmed. Hopefully other movies in this series will be better quality! Quote Link to comment
ascballerina
Was this the Bolshoi's La Bayadere? I went to see that some time ago...I found the filming just fine, no major problems, that's strange. And I'm usually picky. Quote Link to comment
Lady Elle
yes it was! Hmmm? I was thinking it was not the problem of the projector being misaligned because usually when thats the case you can see the movie still down below (or above) the screen. maybe there are several productions of Bolshoi's La Bayadere. it was with Svetlana Zakharova. ascballerina
*shrug* I have no idea who played the lead when I saw it. I saw it broadcast at the same time it was being performed, though....maybe they've had time to edit since? Quote Link to comment
