Liliana_K
Hi everyone! I go to a Russian Vaganova school and the summer intensive I might go to this summer is supposed to teach that along with some Cecchetti as well. I am not really sure what the difference is between the two styles, and was wondering if anyone could help me. Is there a big difference in the technique? I really want to get better at the Vaganova technique and I'm worried about taking classes with a different style of ballet. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 3, 2014 Administrators Report Share Posted January 3, 2014 Hello Liliana_K, welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers. Since you currently attend Kirov, and I think it might be your first year, maybe it would be better to stay there for the summer? The methods all have some differences and a lot of similarities, and variety is a good thing, when one is ready for it. If this is your first year of pure Vaganova, it might be best to stay with that this summer, and think about something different next year. It would be a good idea to discuss this with one of your teachers and see what they suggest for you. Quote Link to comment
