Jennifer F.
https://openlibrary.org/search?has_fulltext=true&subject=ballet+dancers+fiction "Pippa Passes" by Rumer Godden is an entertaining read, if somewhat unrealistic because of the main character just being so good at everything and wanted by everyone for their own ends. MamatoMary
For a 13-year-old, DD has read a couple: "Jersey Tomatoes are the Best" is about two high-school best friends, one a ballet dancer and the other a soccer player, and how they support each other. (Disclaimer: One of DD's besties is a soccer phenom, so this book really appealed to them) "Rose Sees Red" is about two teenage girls, one American and the other a daughter of a Russian diplomat, who both study ballet and have an interesting night on the town in NYC during the Cold War when they aren't even supposed to interact with each other. Espionage and mayhem ensue. And I also know you didn't want autobiographies, but I found Jacques D'Amboise's to be thoroughly entertaining, and it reads more like a novel than a biography. NikkisMamma
DD (12) and I both read and enjoyed Dance of shadows by Yelena Black. It's a bit dark but interesting. We're hoping for a sequel soon! ETA apparently it's due out this winter, yay! Quote Link to post
