Best xmas present ever

A couple of months ago I had to quit dancing because of shoulder impingement syndrome.

I so hate everything about this condition.

I've been active doing pilates and strength training.

But hey, last week (it was Christmas Eve) I was able to execute a whole single push up! Yes!

I hope I can continue taking classes some time next year.

Have a great new year.

It is so hard to have to stop because of something other than one's own intention to stop. Good for you for getting to the point where you could do a whole push up!

So, could you start back dancing soon, then? (over the hols there are probably not so many classes!)

Did you have extensive rehab, or mainly rest? (I mean, was the pilates and such tailored to your condition?)

Happy New Year!

I started my hiatus with total mental and physical rest and A-I pills. Then started working with the related trigger points, teres major was the most painful.

Then mobilisation exercises / pilates, and also weight exercises. PT helped there.

The pain is now gone. I have the possibility to take one 90 min class once a week till summer and see how everything goes.

But one thing is clear: my technique with arms is all wrong.
