Guest Tanya
What is the difference between eleve and releve? Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Easy one, Tanya - some schools don't differentiate between the two in French, but all recognize the difference. Elevé is a simple rise to demi-pointe or higher from a position à terre, and relevé is a "pop-up" to accomplish the same thing. Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 12, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted August 12, 2002 And the "pop up" comes from a demi plié, whereas the simple rise is from straight legs Link to comment
