Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 14, 2017 Administrators Report Share Posted October 14, 2017 Luisa, your previous posts indicate that you point your foot by curling your toes, and that you don't have a high arch or instep. It would also indicate that you are not using your ankle and the energy all the way through the leg to point the foot. It might be time for you to take some photos of your feet, and post them in an album with a link for our experts to see. Without seeing you, it is very hard to try and help. They will want photos of your feet standing in different positions, and your feet in your pointe shoes in different positions. There are guidelines for photos in the pinned topics on the Pointe Shoe Forum.) Quote Link to comment
Analoreols
Hi, I've just started ballet. I want to know if I can improve my instep and my arches. Both of them. I'm 11 years old and I don't know if it's worth saying that I'm flexible. I've got my front and middle splits. Also, I think I have made some progress on my back flexibility. With regard to my overall strength, I do dance-focused exercises every day. PS: my 16 year old sister, who has similar feet, wants to know if she can also improve her instep. https://drive.google.com/a/itesm.mx/file/d/1QmCnDT-KhoTVP7vt07QQA_34WPLBawWV/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/a/itesm.mx/file/d/1QmA3q39GICO-iAetlFNLAqiBIXnx9MuA/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/a/itesm.mx/file/d/1QuFuCN5wHHkpnZnwLHCMdBVofcxGPU4_/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/a/itesm.mx/file/d/1QswMeyY8r-i8cM7Mo5soINq5rG1_oOmk/view?usp=drivesdk Quote Link to comment

vrsfanatic
Improvement in the flexibility of the instep is possible as is the case with all parts of the body. The big question is how much can they improve? This is dictated by whatever your natural abilities are. I suggest you ask your teacher to help you with exercises that can help you.
