Guest Medora
I was just wondering, when you audition for a summer intensive, does the faculty only look for your present abilities, or do they also lay great emphasis on your potential? Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 19, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted August 19, 2002 Well, that kinda depends a lot on your age, Medora. I think most of us tend to look for potential in 13-15 year olds, but by 16 and above we are looking a bit more at present abilities. Link to comment
Guest Medora
Thank you Mrs. Leigh, I did not really begin ballet until I was almost fourteen years old. I have been training intensively for the past two years, taking ballet and pointe three nights a week with my school's company rehearsals on the weekends. I turned 16 on Friday, but in the past two years, I have improved tremendously! My teachers are always telling me how much potential I have. I feel that I am doing well, but I think that with more time I could be doing a whole lot better. My dance teacher told me that auditotions are not only about technique, but how you present yourself. Hopefully they will see something special in me. Link to comment
