Makeup in Class?

Recommended Posts

As I'm starting lessons I'm beginning to notice that some students come with makeup, while others don't and I've been finding very mixed perspectives online about if makeup to class is a good idea. I haven't been wearing any to class for the couple of weeks since I started because I didn't want to sweat and ruin it while clogging my pores, and makeup is very expensive on an already tight budget.

But it was suggested to me that doing so would be a sign that I'm wanting to put my best foot forward which I feel is important when dealing with something like dance and other similar sports, so I wanted to maybe get some perspectives on that? I know that foundation and blush would be out of the question for me but what about eyeshadow, lip gloss, or eyeliner and mascara?

Wearing make-up or not wearing make-up is a personal decision inside a ballet class as well as outside a ballet class. To do so does not make nor break a students. It is however required onstage. There is no way around that. Do you wear make-up outside of class? If not, don't worry about it.
