Upcoming season's class schedules

We have not quite finalized DD10's class schedule yet but I was wondering what everyone else's schedules looked like?

So far for classes we are doing:

  • Jazz - 1
  • Contemporary - 1
  • Jazz Funk - 1
  • Ballet - 2

Possibly adding:

  • Tap
  • Ballet (but a lower level since they only have two classes at DD's current level).

DD11:

ballet - 4 (x1.5 hours each)

character - 1 (x1 hour)

stretch/pre-pointe - 1 (x1 hour)

rehearsal - 1 (x3 hours)

DD usually takes at least 2 (but no more than 4) non-ballet classes (tap, jazz, etc.), but we are still looking for a studio that is compatible with her ballet schedule. Otherwise, she may have to do adult drop-in classes this upcoming season.

DD8 will have:

2 ballet technique classes of 1.5hrs

1 character/jazz/contemporary class of 1 hr (style will rotate throughout the year)

She's considering a 1 hour class at the level below hers on one of her days off if she feels like she wants more, but it depends on how much time she spends in performance rehearsal, which is outside of class.

My daughter turns 7 right when the semester begins. She'll be taking 2 ballet, 1 acro, 1 jazz, 1 tap. Ballet is 75 mins each and the rest are 45 mins each. Plus performance rehearsals.

My 3 year old son takes 1 30 min tots class a week, since we're there anyway :)

We ended up dropping the Jazz and Contemporary already and added an extra ballet.  I just don't think it is appropriate for my DD10 to be taking a Jazz class that is filled will high schoolers that are new to dance. It isn't fair to the teens and it isn't fair for my DD.

That’s one thing I love about our studio. Lots of different levels for the electives so my daughter’s jazz and lyrical are with girls her age who’ve been dancing about the same length of time.
