Skip, I think that Major Johnson explained it on that thread. If not, I'm sure he will do it here when he comes :(

If I were you, I would consult Justin Howse' excellent book on anatomy and dance, Dance Technique and Injury Prevention, which has much material on the os trigonum tarsi. A standard work on human anatomy should be something in every dancer's library by your stage in training. In the meantime, here's a pretty good page to gain links to more information about the anatomy of os trigonum:

thanks for your quick response major johnson...only one slight problem...i won't be really able to find that book that you mentioned...because dance books are not common in the library (not even in the biggest) and if they have them, most of them are in dutch...getting english books overhere is quite difficult...(i guess i need to go back to the states again :( !!!)

but the link was helpful...i think i get it now...

thank you very much!!!

Skip, the Howse book was originally published in England, where I've heard they speak English, too!;) It's probably still in print, as it's either recommended or required reading for RAD teachers. What with the trade barriers dropping among the European Community, it wouldn't surprise me if you could find a copy.

sorry, i thought it was an american book....but ok, never mind.

what i would really like to know, is around what price the book would be, because i'm on a student budget (only get 70 euro per month and still have to pay my parents $220 back from my trip to the states :( )

since it is required for RAD-teachers anyway, it might be helpful to get it already though, because i would like to do the teacher programm in a couple of years...so that i already can read it...

thanks anyway for all your informative help

They have it on Amazon.co.uk so you could get it delivered to you. The book is about £20, they only have hardback copies for some reason. I have ordered from Amazon in France before as it worked out cheaper than getting it from Amazon UK! It didn't take long to get here - just 2 days I think. I think Europe is a smaller place than we think it is! It is also improving my French as I keep getting emails from them with offers etc!:(

Thanks lolly for your input...went to amazon.co.uk now and i'm wondering now, major johnson (if you know), what the difference is between the book written by justin howse + someone else ... they offer 4 different books and every book is different and the differences also affects the price...help please :( !!!!

The first and second editions of the book were edited by Shirley Hancock. The third and latest edition is edited by Moira McCormack. In all cases, the basic material was written by Justin Howse, and the editions reflect later revisions, to accommodate advancing medical and technological knowledge.:(

o, ok, i see...well, i need to wait a little anyway, because i don't have the money. 20 pounds is 30 euro, which is around $30...i don't have that at the moment...and probably not in soon too...

i'll have to wait till i have a certain income and then i'll probably be able to buy it...

thank you all anyway for all your tips and help!!!
