Also a number of inaccuracies in terms of who, where, when. There is a solo photo of Markova that says it is from Aurora's Wedding, by Diaghilev! And, of course the photo is from Pas de Quatre. Some other things not quite right are pointed out in the comments section. Link to post

Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 30, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted January 30, 2016 A very beautiful lady and lovely person as well as dancer and teacher. I was privileged to work with her during the years we were both teaching at the University of Oklahoma. May she rest in peace. Link to post
Administrators mom2 Posted February 9, 2016 Author Administrators Report Share Posted February 9, 2016 The ballet world has lost another legendary figure... http://indianapublicmedia.org/news/ballet-legend-violette-verdy-dies-age-82-93596/ And a 2010 video featuring Ms. Verdy, speaking on Balanchine (I believe Tiler Peck dances in this one): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fFK6-LsQEU Link to post
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted February 9, 2016 Administrators Report Share Posted February 9, 2016 We have lost not only a legendary figure, but one of the most beautiful, kind, generous, and inspiring people I have ever known. A gloriously musical dancer and teacher, passionate, devoted, wise, and all other positive adjectives I can think of. She was a friend, and also, when I was young, a mentor. A very, very important person in my life as a dancer and teacher. This was devastating news last night, as I guess I just thought she was someone who would go on forever, giving her own special love and knowledge and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
