Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted September 11, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted September 11, 2002 Tanya, a pas de deux is a dance for two. It is usually a dance for a male and female dancer. Most classical ballets will have at least one pas de deux, and full length ballets will have several. The classical pas de deux usually consists of a longer first section which is all partnering, followed by a solo for the male, a solo for the female, and a coda for both of them. In the training process one can begin to study pas de deux when they reach an advanced level of technique, if the studio has any male dancers of course! Next time you start a new topic, please change the title line to reflect the subject of your post so that we don't have several topics with the same title of "ballet". Since the whole board is about ballet, we need each topic to have a different title. Link to comment
