It will be interesting to see how her directorship goes. I'm hopeful this will breathe much needed new life into the ballet culture in LA. I've always found it odd that a major city would struggle to have a world class arts scene, but I imagine it will be especially challenging to take on an already flailing organization in today's climate where the arts seem to be more devalued than ever.
