Lady Elle
My daughter is in a small company, second company (unpaid). She is and has been auditioning for other companies. She was offered an apprentice position at another small company that doesn’t pay and, like the company she’s in, doesn’t really bring in great choreographers or do much classical except nutcracker. She really wants something else. She’s considering freelancing in NY if she doesn’t get any other offers this audition season. I’m thinking a year off won’t look so great on the resume (as there is no guarantee she will be doing much with freelancing). Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
vrsfanatic
My experience has been that Freelance work does not necessarily lead to a stable contract with a professional company. Freelancing can however lead to other interests being tapped. The Freelance route in NYC can be invigorating or extremely depressing. Otherway, it is an expensive route. Quote Link to comment
