Guest Old Fashioned
A new book by Francine Prose about women who inspired artists is out, and a certain famous dancer and choreographer are featured in it. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/ae/b...reviews/1591012 Quote Link to comment
Farrell Fan
I've read the book and enjoyed it enormously. It's an interesting assortment of muses -- from the tragic Elizabeth Siddal (Dante Gabriel Rossetti) to the self-promoter Yoko Ono. Two of the muses I already knew something about -- Hester Thrale, Samuel Johnson's friend (despite Francine Prose's designation, I don't think she qualifies as a muse), and the ballerina-muse to whom you allude. But I found the other portraits equally fascinating. Quote Link to comment
Guest Old Fashioned
Thank you for your input! I'll hopefully have time this weekend to go to the bookstore and look into it. Quote Link to comment
