Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 7, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted October 7, 2002 Hello dance4life87, welcome to the Young Dancers' forum on Ballet Alert! Online Your question has been asked many times, but unfortunately there is really no definitive answer. Is it possible to become good? Yes. Good enough to become professional? Probably not, but also not impossible. Has it been done? Yes. It all depends a great deal on your natural physical facility for ballet and the quality as well as quantity of your training. Since we can't see you, we just don't know. Starting at 14 is harder than starting at 7 or 8 years old, but, if you have the right physique for ballet, anything is possible, with enough commitment and very hard work. Link to comment
Guest Medora
I love to believe that, ibecause it keeps my dreams alive. I didn't really start until fourteen either, but I have come a long, long ways in the past two years and I have good physique. I had danced when I was younger, but I had to stop at ten and couldn't return until I was almost fourteen. I believe that anything is possible and I CAN do it. I will just continue to do my best and hope. Link to comment

SO anything is possible if you have good training and your very dedicated:)I am a late starter myself and I am already moving up! Link to comment
Guest dancergal
Ms. Leigh pretty much covers it all. I don't know how many times I've responded to people asking, "Is 15 too late?" "What about 14?" and questions like that. And my answer's always the same. Just keep dancing and do your best. You dance because you want to, and it doesn't matter how old you are. Anyone can dance, no matter what their age. Link to comment
