Perfect Performer
Has anybody ever had trouble with worts? And what did you do to get rid of them? Link to comment

Guest primapink26
if you make an appointment with the doctor than s/he will usually burn them off with liquid nitrogen. it kinda stings a bit and it is really cold but it worth it to get rid of them! Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Worts? Worts are plants which were used in herbal and folk medicine to treat disorders stemming from certain causes. Liverwort, for example, was used for any disease of the liver. Spiderwort was used against spider bites, and eyewort was used to treat sore eyes, in fact...what's that, not wort, but wart...oh...never mind! Link to comment

Guest Leigh Witchel
This is one of your friendly Board Hosts. I'm also the Spelling Elf around here. (Or one of them!) One of my little manias is that if we leave spelling mistakes in the thread titles, the kids will think that "wart" actually is spelled "wort". I usually correct such things on the sly. So if you see the title of a thread mysteriously correct itself, you will know that the Spelling Elves have visited. If only someone would leave me some milk and a plate of brownies. . . Perfect Performer
Well, Could you fix a title in the Buddy Board for me? I Posted about The Nutcracker and accidentally spelled it Nutracker. So, If you could please, Fix that for me? It would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 13, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted October 13, 2002 Done, Mary I just did it for you. Had tried to do "Worts", but was doing the wrong thing and did not get it corrected. Link to comment
Guest sarez
Personally, when I was younger I had warts on the bottom of my feet, and it became painful to walk. We went to the doctor, and he froze it off. It doesn't hurt at all... it tickles though! Link to comment
Guest pumukau
There was a banner on CNN (that line of print that runs at the bottom of the screen?) today that some medical publication had announced that warts could be removed with ......... duct tape! I vote for the doctor. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Right, Keith, and I'm leaving your post where it is, because it's both humorous and correct, even though this is Young Dancer territory. It was interesting to me that of the two different methods described in the story associated, one using abrasion and one using chemical cautery, both were carried out under the direct supervision of a physician. The procedures are experimental, so I wouldn't try them without the go-ahead from your doc! Link to comment
Guest Aleasha Barkova
I agree with you, Ms. Witchel, about the spelling thing. I'm a little nuts about punctuation and spelling too. I get on my friends' nerves because I'm always correcting grammar. Anyway, one of my friends swears that putting a banana peel on a wart really helps. I don't know if this is true, though. Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 16, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted October 16, 2002 Aleasha, I'm sure it is confusing, since both Leigh Witchel and I spell our names the same way ;) However, MR. Witchel is one of our moderators here on BA, and also a well known choreographer and dance writer! Link to comment
Mel Johnson
And banana peels don't work; however, they say that swinging a dead black cat by the tail over your head in a graveyard at midnight does!;) Link to comment
Perfect Performer
EEWW! I Don't think I would do that. Especially since I have a pet that is a black cat!! Link to comment
