Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted November 4, 2002 Administrators Report Share Posted November 4, 2002 Hello Dream*of*dancin, welcome to the Young Dancers' forum on Ballet Alert! Online Improving rotation and also extension, if you do not happen to be one of the very fortunate ones with natural flexibility, takes a long time and a lot of work. Your ballet classes are designed to improve these things, so, working on things you learn in class is the way to improve. In addition to basic barre work exercises you can add stretches, when you are properly warmed up of course, and also ONLY if you have been taught how to do them correctly. This is your teachers' job. If you click on the Forum Jump link, below, and scroll to the Archives section, YD stretches and exercises, you will find a lot of information there. But just be sure that you understand how to do the exercises and check with your teacher! Link to comment
