Guest Misto06
Hi, My name is Guy-Paul, I'm 37 years old, French. I used to dance for various Classical ballet companies in Europe. I now teach Classical ballet around the country (France). If you want to find out more about me you can visit my website MISTO'S HOBBIES (for pictures of my dance career there's a special section called "career" on the menu page). A little update about my life. I have just auditioned for the UK tour of Cats a few days ago in London and, recording to the casting director and the choreographer's assistant, I might have great chances to get the part of Mr. Mistoffolees, the conjuring cat. It's a part I already played for 4 years in Paris, London and Amsterdam productions of the show 10 years ago before I decided to give up dancing because of a back injury. getting back into training after all these years hasn't been very easy but it's a nice challenge I have to face isn't it what life is all about? tell me what you think.. citibob
Bonjour, Guy-Paul. Qu'est-ce que je pense? I think what you're trying to do is very difficult, but you certainly know what it entails. I admire that. I look forward to seeing more of you. If I remember Cats, then Mr. Mistoffelees was a pretty flash character. I saw him go into tour a la seconde, leaned over and told my wife, "he's gonna do 32, and this is the second-to-last number". Very much borrowed from the classical idiom. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Welcome to the Men's Forum, Guy-Paul and I must say you have a most impressive site. Glad you're in serious consideration for Mr. Mistoffolees, which is a great part! I hope the back holds out for it. You sound like you miss the stage!!! Quote Link to comment
Guest Misto06
Thanks a lot for the nice welcome messages and what you said about my site. I'm glad I have found this site where men do other things that talk about their passion for wearing tights or looking at other guys in dance gear. I have tried myself to create a yahoo group a few years ago called "World male dancers" and most men who joined only wanted to get their kicks by exchanging pictures of young boys or men wearing tights (often with nothing under) so I ended up having to filter everything to prevent the younger members of that group to see them. I'm really excited about going back on stage. Even though I really enjoyed teaching for the past 7 years I have to admit that I missed being on stage. Of course, getting back into shape at 37 isn't the easiest thing in the world, I think I learned so much by teaching that now I know how to prevent silly injuries. thanks to all of you for making this forum Guy-Paul MISTO'S HOBBIES Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Thanks for the kind words, Guy-Paul. And I know just what you mean about the problems of setting up a serious site for male dancers. We try to police this site pretty regularly and if anything off-color or morally objectionable looks like it's starting, it doesn't get very far! And don't worry about getting back into shape! With all your experience, now you know what not to do, and how not to do it! There's nothing quite like teaching to show you things you never knew that you knew about ballet, or almost any subject! MISTO'S HOBBIES The dance gear is like the one thing I dislike with ballet. Or... I have gotten used to it, but I prefer jeans and shirt I really admire youre courage! It takes its man to do what you are going to/trying to!!!! Good luck, hope you make it! ps: youre site is exellent! I watched the english part, and I even get to practice my french (witch really could have been better. I am having a 6hour test in french next friday...) Quote Link to comment
